Snow Glory

It's really coming down out there! Big, fluffy snowflakes are literally pouring down from the sky today!
As I sit cozied up in my little house and watch from the window, I have been wondering what God thinks as He looks on us this particular day. "This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." Surely most of us have been taught that song at some point in our life! This very cold, snowy day was created by our Father, and whether we like it or not, He has a purpose for us to fulfill in it. Have you taken the time to thank Him for all He's chosen to bless your life with? Have you looked outside (or been playing out in it!) and said "Thanks, God, for the glorious white day we're having!"?
Perhaps you had plans today (or this evening) and they have been messed up by this weather. Joel had to totally change his plan for the day because he couldn't get his truck out of the valley! At lunchtime, Andy, Joel, and Eli had to walk all the way up the drive to get to their homes. I would've liked to get some shopping done this afternoon, but the roads are too snowy for Evan and me to brave alone! Sometimes I think God creates an unexpected or not-so-convenient day just to slow us down a little. Often life gets going so fast that we can easily forget to cherish those around us and the time that we have together. "Take each day and make it last... 'cause you turn around and the future is the past."
Enjoy this snow day! Take a good look around at all you've got and remember to praise the Lord for His goodness.

  1. I really enjoyed reading this Ashley :) Makes me think more of remembering to thank God for every day that comes by. :)
