Chasing Fireflies

We're still driving, and I'm bored in the truck. So, naturally, I choose to browse children's clothing boutiques online!

I love the old-fashioned look of these first two dresses. So feminine!

This dress is simply adorable, but the little girl is even cuter! Oh my goodness.

And this one just makes me want to be at the beach soo badly! But I especially like the pale blue accents on this sweet dress.

Blogging on the Road... SHEEP!

I took these photos when it was almost completely dark outside, so they didn't show up too well. But hopefully this will give you some idea of what Joel's flock looks like these days! A few days before leaving for WI, we went out to the farm and fixed up a new shelter area for the ewe's having babies! There are twin lambs, and boy are they adorable! Maybe there will be more new arrivals by the time we get home. :)

There are roughly 30 sheep, with several mommies about to pop!

You really can't see very well, but I got one of the lambs in this shot! She's so tiny!

Joel used the tractor to stack the round bales and make a nice shelter.

I am crazy in love with that farm boy!!

We are on our way home to MO!!

Say Cheese!

Still On the Road... two hours to go!

Isn't my husband so cool looking? He borrowed my sunglasses for a while... I think they were helping him focus with his computer work better?...

The front-seat guys! :-)

Carl climbed all the way to the top of the welcome sign! He's definitely an Eldredge.

Carl, Me, Joel, and Andy - welcome to Wisconsin!

We've been messing around with my webcam during the truck ride!

We Have Babies!!

Joel's sheep have started having babies!! There are twin lambs in the pasture, named Harold and Patricia! I am taking our camera out there this evening to photograph the lambs so I can show them off to you on my blog. :)

Coming Soon!

Oh Lord, You are so awesome!

I woke up sick again this morning, but am feeling quite a bit better right now. :)
Joel and I are headed out for our morning walk around the neighborhood, and then it's off to GreatClips for Joel's makeover! Okay, actually it's just a haircut - so he'll be all spiffed up for Dave's wedding this weekend. THIS WEEKEND!! My new amazing big brother is getting married in just a few days! Praise God... He is faithful to His children, and fulfills the desires of their hearts.
Have a wonderful Wednesday, dear friends! Take time throughout your busy day to praise and thank our Lord for all His goodness. :)
Love always,
ashley

Miniature Hedgehogs

 I want one.

Oooohhhhh! Is it just me, or are these guys absolutely irresistible?!

I Am Alive!

Hey there,
You're probably all wondering where I've gone and how I'm doing these days! I apologize for being away from the blog for so long - a lot has happened in my life the past couple weeks. :)
All I have to say at the moment is.... my God is faithful! And I am more in love with Him today than I've ever been. Praise be to His glorious name!
I have to run and take lunch over to Joel at work, but I'll try to post a proper update this evening. Maybe there will even be pictures! ;)
Love you all so much -

The Weekend!

This weekend is Dave's bachelor party in St Louis! Joel and the guys left around 10 o'clock this morning, and won't be back until sometime tomorrow night. I told my husband to be careful - you never know with those Eldredge guys...

I am spending most of the day right here in my cozy little duplex. Then this evening, I am heading out to the farm to spend the night with my family! :)

For those of you who might be wondering, I've been feeling much better the last couple of days! I started taking a pro-biotic to help repair my stomach from getting the flu so many times. And I am on a restricted diet that should get my digestive system running normally again soon! Praise God. :) I'm still spending a lot of time letting my body rest and gain strength, but I think I'm finally on the way to getting all better!

Have a great weekend, everybody! Remember to stop and thank the Lord for His many blessings in your life!

Engagement Pictures... I got Picnik happy tonight.

Kind of a funny angle, but I like this in a different sort of way. :)
I think this is my personal favorite out of the whole bunch of shots Mark took that day!
I like this one an awful lot too, though! Not me so much... just Joel - he looks so content.
We took several shots next to this old building by the railroad tracks.

Last Summer in the Park

 I love you, Carl!
Thought you'd appreciate my sharing this picture with all our friends.

 Awww...

Mark was our photographer that day, and the idea of Joel hanging upside down from the monkey-bars was his idea. I think it turned out cute! Who else could look that good hanging upside down? ;)

I want a good old-fashioned snow man!! Maybe Joel will make me one?

Quiet Time

"Who has gone up to heaven and come down? Who has gathered up the wind in the hollow of His hands? Who has wrapped up the waters in His cloak? Who has established all the ends of the earth? ... He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him."

The results are in.

I officially do not have Mono any more! Praise God!! The doctor is pretty sure that I got it around the same time Joel did, and that my body was able to fight it off. :) But I'm still run down and tired a lot of the time because my body hasn't recovered fully! That's also why I keep catching every cold and flu that comes along.
So, dear friends, I am asking for your prayers - I need to regain strength and avoid catching any new sicknesses! If I'm not feeling much better by next week, then the doctor wants to see me again. Lord willing, we won't have to do that and I'll be feeling better real soon!
Thank you all so much.
With Love,
ashley e.

Snow Leopards

Baby Snow Leopards! Awww
There are dozens of pictures online of these guys; I thought this was one of the coolest.
I love tigers (have always wanted one of my own as a pet), and I think that the Snow Leopard is a close second!

I Can Only Imagine!

I can only imagine
What it will be like
When I walk
By Your side

I can only imagine
What my eyes will see
When Your face
Is before me
I can only imagine

[Chorus]:
Surrounded by Your glory, what will my heart feel
Will I dance for You Jesus or in awe of You be still
Will I stand in Your presence or to my knees will I fall
Will I sing hallelujah, will I be able to speak at all
I can only imagine

I can only imagine
When that day comes
And I find myself
Standing in the Son
I can only imagine
When all I will do
Is forever
Forever worship You
I can only imagine

Dr. Update!

Well folks, my appointment went smoothly this morning - praise the Lord! I got a blood test done... three different ones, actually. The results were supposed to come in this afternoon, but I haven't heard back from the nurse yet. :-( Hopefully we'll know by tomorrow evening!
The doctor also prescribed "Magical Mouthwash" (seriously, that's what it's called) for my throat! No Strep, but she said I do have some kind of infection.
My God is so good - all praise and glory to His precious name!! May He be the lover of your soul, my friend. His name is matchless!

Just Us Two

Since we've been sickies, fruit has been a big part of our daily diet! We both prefer apples with crunchy peanut-butter. Mmhmm.
Aww! That's my guy!

We get these great oranges called "Cuties" at our Country Mart just up the road! (We don't eat them with peanut butter, though. In case you were wondering.)

Prayer

Hi everyone!
I would really appreciate your prayers as I go in for a doctor appointment tomorrow morning. (Early, like, we're talking before nine o'clock early.) I was never technically diagnosed with Mono; it was just assumed that I surely had it since my dear husband does! So tomorrow they will probably do a blood test to make sure that I do indeed have Mono. And, they will also more than likely test me for Strep Throat, since mine's been hurting and got worse over the weekend.
We're just praying that after tomorrow I will get either an antibiotic to help me start getting better, or just an official "doctor's orders" to keep resting as much as possible and kick the Mono!
I will post an update by tomorrow evening and let you know how it goes. :) Thank you so much!
Much Love,
ashley e.

Love Like Crazy by Lee Brice

They called him crazy when they started out
Said seventeen's too young to know what loves about
They've been together fifty-eight years now
That’s crazy

He brought home sixty-seven bucks a week
He bought a little 2 bedroom house on Maple Street
Where she blessed him with six more mouths to feed
Yeah that’s crazy

Just ask him how he did it; he'll say pull up a seat
It'll only take a minute, to tell you everything
Be your best friend, tell the truth, and overuse I love you
Go to work, do your best, don't outsmart your common sense
Never let your prayin' knees get lazy
And love like crazy

They called him crazy when he quit his job
Said them home computers, boy they'll never take off
He sold his one man shop to Microsoft
They paid like crazy

Just ask him how he made it
He'll tell you faith and sweat
And the heart of a faithful woman,
Who never let him forget

Be your best friend, tell the truth, and overuse I love you
Go to work, do your best, don't outsmart your common sense
Never let your prayin knees get lazy
And love like crazy

Always treat your woman like a lady
Never get too old to call her baby
Never let your prayin knees get lazy
And love like crazy

They called him crazy when they started out
They've been together fifty-eight years now

Ain't that crazy?

Favorite TV Shows

 Human Target
Tell me this guy doesn't look like my dad!! Chance... he's the perfect action hero, without being too stereotype.

High-action, humor, not-too-mushy romance... definitely one of my favorite shows. You really have to watch it sometime if you haven't already! (I wouldn't recommend it for the little ones, though. A bit too intense!)

Monk
A long-time favorite of my family's, this one's among the best. Different seasons are better than others, but usually Monk is highly entertaining! I imagine that everyone's seen this show at some point... if you haven't yet, you should. :)

Favorite TV Shows, continued

Psych!
The pictures wouldn't load in order... too bad! Anyway, this first character is Burton Guster (Gus). But he has all sorts of made up names in the show. He's the very cautious, very sensible side-kick.

This is the star character of the show - Sean Spencer! He's the fun-loving psychic.

They are a great team, and even more, they are best friends since kindergarten. Very funny show.

Leverage
It's about a group of ex-thieves who have come together and formed a team. Together, they help "steal back" - using their skills to help people who can't help themselves.

Each of the characters has their own area of expertise, making their missions very interesting!
Overall, Leverage is a very entertaining, fast-paced show.

More from the holidays!

I'm pretty sure that Andy's son actually took this picture. Way to go, buddy! :)

I am in love with Ryley's expression here! We visited Andy and Amy's a while back to help set up their Christmas tree. Didn't get much decorating done that day, but we sure had a good time together!
