Love

1"If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.8 Love never fails..."

1 Corinthians 1:26-31

"Brothers, (and sisters!) think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were of noble birth. But God CHOSE the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God CHOSE the weak things of the world to shame the strong. He CHOSE the lowly things of the world and the despised things - and the things that are not - to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before Him. It is because of Him that YOU are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God - that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. Therefore, as it is written, 'Let him who boasts boast in the Lord.'"

We cannot amputate our past from our destiny!! God takes ownership of it and creates in us a marvelous work for His glory! Let your story magnify His greatness, dear friends. :)

Psalms for Today

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow His precepts have good understanding. To Him belongs eternal praise."
"... his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord. His heart is secure, he will have no fear..."
~ Psalms 111 & 112 ~

From Matthew Chapter 11

28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

~ Psalms 48 ~

As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the Lord Almighty, in the city of our God: God makes her secure forever. Like your name, O God, your praise reaches to the ends of the earth...
For this God is our God for ever and ever; He will be our guide even to the end.

Love... lets the other win

Joel and I have been going through the "Love Dare" book, and oh my goodness is it an eye-opener!
Today's chapter was on laying down your rights and desires and letting the other person "win". It's a lot harder than it sounds at first! I'll just share some of my favorite sections from today's reading. :)

* The opposite of stubbornness - "willing". "It's an attitude and spirit of cooperation that should permeate our conversations."
* " 'Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus' (Phil. 2:5) - the attitude of willingness, flexibility, and humble submission. It means laying down for the good of others what you have the right to claim for yourself."
* "The wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield." (James 3:17)
